Grange Road residence

This wonderfully quirky older home was certainly a challenge for the contractor. Uneven, sagging floors, and lathe and plaster ceiling all added to the challenge of bringing the home into the 21st century! Marmoleum floor tiles were used to add a "vintage" feel to the space, and also allowing for a quick clean up. The original floor plan did not allow for the addition of a dishwasher, so the sink was moved to the island, with the dishwasher. The clients also wanted to add a desk for surfing the internet and doing household chores like paying the bills.

Can you tell me which colors of tiles were used and which brand they were from?

Hello! Unfortunately, the homeowner chose the colors themselves, so I do not have the information. However, I do know for sure that it was a Marmoleum product, that came in the individual squares. One piece of advice that I would give....I have recommended to the clients that we put the tile down before the cabinetry went in, this way it would be quicker for the floor layer, and a lot simpler. They choose to put it in after the cabinetry, more specifically, after the island went in. They thought they would save on materials, however, at the end of the day, when the floor layer went around the island, by the time he got to the other side, ...the squares didn't line up! So much for a savings, as they had to a lot of back tracking too do!
