Emily Hurley Do you mean the chalkboard? I think you can use magnetic chalkboard paint on the walls, then frame it with the wood. (Or is that not what you are asking?)
Make up/dressing corner - I don't have room for a dressing table but I've managed to convince the man to allow me to have a corner of our bedroom to 'girlify'. I'm not massively flouncy but really excited. However there's not much space and really want to utilise the space and make it easy to get ready and be a pleasurable, uncluttered experience. Does anyone have any advice, ideas, or thoughts on storage, decor, or techniques?? »
2. Make a communication center. Your entryway is the one spot in your home where you are guaranteed to grab a family member's attention. Everyone has to pass by it on their way in and out of the house, so make use of this by putting a bulletin board, calendar, chalkboard or whiteboard nearby. Customize Your Command Center
Sometimes, an extra drawer and a chalkboard are all you need to feel a little bit more sane. Create a built-in nook like in this example to keep track of notes on the board or loose-leaf papers in the drawer.
Idea for the telephone area at corner of stair and closet?
Not this exactly, but I like the idea of a corner unit with pens, notepad, etc to take messages. Also, a dedicated home for the phone and answering machine that is centrally located.
This is a unique way to use dead space. The idea of having a charging sation with a chalk board and/or bulletin board by the enty way is very cool. I think that this is executed far better than AVA's.
