DIY PROJECT for printer shelve - Shelving is so-o expensive - does anybody have a DIY project so I can put a printer shelve on the bottom of my file cabinet - there is a 'ledge' there but everything is so expensive - there's got to be a way to build something? »
Cabinet Innovations The printer should work the way you want it to. Someone needs to build a roll-out shelf with full extension drawer slides that will bring the printer forward enough for you to open the top.
City Cabinet Center, San Diego Contact your local cabinet company. Most likely they will not take on such a small project, but they may have a good carpenter/ wood worker/ handyman that they can refer to you. You should be able to find some one who can tackle this.
1. Manage office equipment. When you're setting up your home office, make sure to keep computers, printers, fax machines and other equipment up off the floor. Machines sitting directly on the floor (especially on carpet) can be a fire hazard and are more likely to get tipped over and damaged. This office has a custom solution with pullout shelving underneath the desk. You can try this same concept with a store-bought cabinet with a shelf or big, deep drawers.
