daniellebeasy Thank. I love your work. Is 6" recessed lights generally what you would put throughout a house? I'm havin trouble deciding what size to put in my kitchen.
What brand and color is the carpet? - This shade of carpet looks great with the Shaker Beige walls. Can you please provide the brand and color? Thanks. As usual, another flawless project from Michael Abrams. Love your work! »
Michael Abrams Limited This carpet came from Rexx Rug in Chicago. It is a stock carpet meaning they purchase large quantities. They can get you the details.
Media Decor If the TV is recessed into the wall and there is a mantle above the fireplace (deflects fire heat from going straight up), you should be ok. The picture above is not a good idea if it a wood fireplace.
COASTROAD Hearth & Patio I agree with Media Decor, especially about a mantel shelf.
Usually there is very little convective heat (hot air) coming from a wood burning fireplace, so very little heat will rise from the fireplace opening. Practically all heat produce by this type of fireplace is radiant heat, which travels as sub-visible light in all directions into the room.
If you have conservative fires and only occasionally, it is unlikely that you will ever have a problem, even with the situation shown above. If you use the fireplace day and night continuously, there may be a problem, as radiant heat warms up the entire wall.
The worst case scenario is with an unvented gas fireplace, which produces almost nothing but convective heat. I've seem a TV melt over an unvented fireplace . . .
The Hamptons Home Theater Company You can put the components anywhere you want, connect them to an av switcher, add a wireless video transmission device, and control it all with an rf remote without running any cables between the components and television. That Shaker Beige is Great!!! What's your favorite off white color for trim? I know you have used B.M. White Linen in some of your projects. I want one that is not too white, but not too yellow. More on the creamy side.
Thanks »
Michael Abrams Limited Linen White will be your best best for creamy, or you could use the trim color in this photo and project: Benjamin Moore-Mayonnaise.
