What is the color of the soapstone? - I love this countertop. What color soapstone is this? I love it. From the photo, it doesn't look like it has too many "veins". Is this an accurate statement? Thanks! »
Granite Grannies Your local fabricator will be able to show you different soapstones that are available from local suppliers. Soapstone names can be rather pointless since they are not consistent across suppliers. So even if you got the name, you'd still need to look at everything in order to find one that had the look you want. I recommend finding a fabricator who will let you custom purchase a slab or two after visiting different suppliers to find one you like.
Granite Grannies Soapstone is very easy to keep up. You can wax or oil it once a year if you want a shine like in this kitchen or you can leave it natural. It's possible to scratch or nick it, but it's very easy to sand those blemishes out or, again, some prefer to let a patina develop over time.
