They are 2 different colors with the ceiling being just 3 shades lighter then the walls.

I will have to check the records for that job :)

The author's comment was probably referring to the cabinetry and not the wall.

Most likely custom made from a variety of kitchen cabinetry components and assorted lumber & mouldings - You could create the similar yourself.

This is a design I created using Mid Continent Cabinetry. The door style is the Eastlake, wood species is solid hard maple and the painted finish is Celadon.
