Thomas Ramey's Essentials in Steel Hello, the wall in the background is why I posted this photo. I do custom steel work. I am a sculptor and custom architectural fabricator. The wall is patinaed steel plates in a lattice inspired pattern. It is part of a wrap around fireplace.

3. Metal installation. This wall treatment is similar to the last one, in that the pieces of steel have been applied at different thicknesses on the wall. The metal gives a more industrial feel, but it is still a warm look because of the dark patina.

It has industrial feel to it but it can make a room feel warm due to the color that you choose. You can pare it up with glass and give it a bright look adding white to the room.
