Whipping any modern or transitional decor into ship shape, the Modern Craftsman Elemental 11 Drawer Dresser is inspired by the sea-worthy cabin trunks used on passenger ships in the days of yore. The classic design elements are all here - from the oil-rubbed bronze finish pulls to the solid maple feet and recessed top. And your jewelry won't be left at sea, either, because this dresser includes a felt-bottom tray for keeping your valuables organized. You can keep it on the top of the dresser for easy access or slide it into one of the drawers for the perfect stowaway.Made right here in the USA, this dresser is crafted of maple and select hardwood solids with cherry veneers. The 11 drawers have easy-glide mechanisms for smooth sailing, and you have your choice of finishes with this dresser. Dark and demure, the Mink finish has charcoal highlights and subtle distressed effects (light rock denting and hand-burnishing). The lighter Saddle finish creates a timeless look that accentuates the cherry's natural wood grain, thanks to its own fine hand-distressing techniques (worm holes, burnishing, cowtailing, and hatchet marks). Both finishes pair perfectly with other pieces in the Modern Craftsman collection, sold separately. You'll want to add the optional beveled glass mirror to your order, too. It matches whichever dresser finish you choose and features a recessed, shadow-style frame. Mirror measures: 38.75W x 3.75D x 42.75H inches. The Modern Craftsman CollectionEmbrace austerity with Stanley Furnitureís Modern Craftsman collection, a stellar combination of Mission style, Arts and Crafts detailing, and mid-century-modern influence. The collection celebrates hand-craftsmanship with exposed joinery and stretcher motifs, while the modern industrial hardware continues the dedication to subdued elegance. Crafted of veneers, this collection draws character from burnished corners, rub-through trimmings, and natural cow-tailing.Stanley Furniture Craftsmanship Stanley Furniture's main objective is to produce quality and stylish furniture by using the best wood materials, construction procedures, and elegant finishes on their products to help you fashion your home decor the way you imagined. All of their furniture is hand-crafted from quality woods, incorporating other superior materials such as aluminum, glass, plastic, leather, and marble. Every joint is carefully constructed (keeping wood's sensitivity to heat and humidity in mind) allowing for expansion and contraction. All joints are held together with glue and nail. Stanley's 30-step finishing process starts with an undertone stain that is applied to a hand-sanded piece. Next, the stain is sealed with a wash coat, then hand sanded again with filler applied to pack the wood pores and smooth out the surface. A sealer coat is then applied, the piece is hand sanded again, and hand padded to mellow the tone. From there, a luster glaze is rubbed on by hand, followed by antiquing or distressing also done by hand. Finally, after drying, each piece is hand waxed and rubbed prior to final inspection.About Stanley FurnitureSince 1924, the goal of the Stanley Furniture Company has been to manufacture high quality furniture at a price the average American family could afford. To accomplish this goal, founder Thomas Bahnson Stanley surrounded himself with the finest furniture craftsmen and instilled in them a sense of pride in building superb quality into every piece of Stanley Furniture. Today, that pride is shared by more than 1,750 dedicated associates who have made Stanley Furniture one of the largest, most respected furniture manufacturers in the nation.
