Books. What better way to immerse guests in your home than to provide them with something to read. It helps them feel like a part of the family right away - and gives them a way to entertain themselves. This is especially great for guests who are staying more than one night. As an added bonus, books are a great design element - don't they look great stacked on these bright tables?
A little bit of color goes a long way. These lamps OR these tables have the power to give a room new energy. Even if you don't have the budget to buy something new, why not pick out an old piece of furniture that could use a little reviving and invest in some shiny, bright paint of your own?
I've never gotten over the Madeline Weinrib zig zag rug pictured here in an old issue of Domino (I think this is a Miles Redd room). It has stood the test of time, been copied widely, yet has never gone out of style.
Oh, by the way, this is the Miles Redd room that launched a thousand of us bloggers searching high and low for a ziggity zaggity rug just like this one!
This Miles Redd–designed room is a classic, largely because of the campaign bed that creates a sleek, sure frame to pull the entire package together.
