Children need a soft space to land. Creating a reading corner with some cush encourages settling down often with a book. Small chairs work of course, but children love to sprawl. If an entire reading corner or station isn't what you're going for, set up a sparser version of a cushion beside a stack of books. Top the books with a plate of cookies, to tempt.
