Sherwin Williams Cityscape - I have used Sherwin Williams Passive in my great room and kitchen and was considering using Cityscape in my formal living room and dining rooms but it looks too dark. I have beautiful white columns and trim so what is your view or should I go with Argos? »
Charcoal and orchid. These deeply saturated hues look great next to the contrasting white. If you're looking for a great fall color pairing that will easily carry into winter, this may be the one. (I'm sorry to say the "W" word. I'll try not to do that again for a few weeks.)
One of the great things about color blocking is that you can implement as many or as few colors as you want. Here, a rich violet shade is used on a feature wall in the living room and on furniture. A block of gray separates two blocks of violet.
If you simply cannot settle for all white walls, consider painting the trim white and accenting it with bold colors, like this magenta. The complement of a strong color against the white will not only brighten your space, but also make it feel extra crisp and contemporary.
Let's not neglect the clever wire bases the surfboard-inspired top sits upon. In this room, the structure of the tower in the artwork has a fun relationship with the structure of the table's base. Charcoal and magenta have been married a long time, and they are still lovely together. Magenta adds playfulness, while charcoal keeps everything grounded.
I know I said to stick with neutral colors when selecting furniture, but there is just something so fabulous about these magenta-hued club chairs. I love them! But notice that the magenta is the only vibrant hue in the space. If those chairs had to compete with a green wall and a blue sofa, they would quickly go from awesome to overload. So go ahead and pick up furniture in your favorite bold hue if you see a piece you just have to have, but edit the other colors in the space so that the intensely hued element remains the star.

Love the combo of white with charcoal gray and fuchsia.
