Shower arm question... - Hi, just wondering if you've ever had any issues with rainshower heads being too heavy for that arm length (20"?). I'm cosidering doing something similar but am afraid of it snapping at the elbow joint in the wall. Any thoughts? »
Dow Construction Where the shower arm attaches should be secured behind the wall by one of several methods. If you can gain access to the plumbing behind the shower head, it could be secured regardless. Most contractors and/or plumbers are able to accomplish this without significant time or expense. If you are worried, have a professional install a "Drop ear 90" made from solid brass, and mount it to a 2x4 and have it secured to the wall studs. I don't know if you will read this, but hopefully this helps you or someone with the same concern.
floridaorchid The showerhead looks like the one I ordered for my new bathroom. It is probably Moen Weymouth series. I think the handheld is also from that series. Moen made the series with two different type handles. One type is with the cross handles and they other is like the picture with just a single handle on each side. The series is considered Traditional,
