Debbie Dusenberry, aka curioussofa.com I bought the table as-is at a garage sale and added the metal trim later. It is antique flashing used on Victorian houses which I found at a flea market somewhere.
herblady I'll get a shot of it for you and see if there is any make and model information. Just be aware the sink I have is still in rough shape. It has not been cleaned up at all so has some beautiful rust stains and other blick decorating the inside of it.
Debbie Dusenberry, aka curioussofa.com I just distressed it too death with average interior paint and Ralph Lauren's Glaze tinted in Tea Stain. Then some sanding.
Pole - What paint or other material was used to stain/finish the pole? I have a large pole in my kitchen and am looking for ideas on how to give it texture without adding bulk. Thank you. »
What kind of wood did you use for the countertops? Looking to do this in our kitchen but I've heard that using Oak, Maple, etc is difficult becuase of the potential water damage »
Debbie Dusenberry, aka curioussofa.com Lumber Liquidators. I love it as it is natural and blends with all the vintage items nicely. Keep it oiled every few months. After 4 years it shows very little staining except where raw metal has sat on it (tin cans).
Capturing the look can be as simple as tracking down the perfect piece. This island may be small, but with repurposed metal and wood, its aesthetic effect is striking.
Go simple, spare and elegant. Vintage pieces like this chandelier and island table are rustic and chic, but not slick or new. The muted colors keep it calm.
