can a white brick be painted to have this look? - in our home the wall is all white brick. but I like the red and rust brick better. I dont want to have the expense of taking the white brick down. I just like the look of this wall. »
Love the walls. How best to get that look? - I am currently exposing a brick wall in my 100 year old flat. I'd love it to look like this when it's done. »
This little table makes me want to settle into the chair not just for a five-minute conversation, but for an hour or two. I love its modern shape and the simplicity of its design. Plus, its deep, masculine color is a great complement to the lighter chair and distressed walls.
When working with quite rustic bones such as this fantastically distressed brick interior wall, balance between country and modern can be met with extremely modern and unique pieces. The lamp is sleek and tall, and the unusual armchair shape give this space unique detail.
Show off your bricks. If you live in an older home, what's underneath that drywall and linoleum? If you can take a peak it might just be something beautiful.
Brick. There might be an argument that exposed brick is trendy, but I don't think so. Brick's solid presence and fabulous capacity for aging gracefully makes it a classic in my book.
I love old, exposed brick in interiors. It has beautiful texture and lends a certain elegance to a room — it's the decorating equivalent of smoking a pipe.

something about painted over brick wall that entice me all the time.
Why not have all the walls in the house like this, rather than plaster painted over which is annoying high maintenance when there's sctachtes etc but not so with brick wall
Wow! Aged warehouse loft meets mid-century modern meets global... and they all get along together beautifully! MCM pieces include the iconic 'Papa Bear' chair by Hans Wegner, the ottoman, the lamp. Global pieces include that wonderfully primitive djembe-drum-shaped side table, and the rug. I also love the simplicity & material of the Roman blinds.
The red-toned wood of the ottoman pick out the red of the bricks; the oatmeal-coloured fabric picks out the cloudy white part of the brick.
