This remodel inserted two contemporary kitchens into a mid 1990’s shingle style house. Our client had a sophisticated eye for modern detailing and wished to contrast those elements with the rest of the house. The main kitchen cabinetry is detailed with Shaker style paneling and white paint as a reference to the character of existing house. The stainless steel pot rack, custom D-ring cabinet pulls, flush counter edges and European style oak veneer island bring the design forward and provide a subtle contrast to the architecture. The kitchenette downstairs features poinsettia red glass tiles from Ann Sacks and fingerprint resistant stainless cabinets to provide a crisp edge to the recreation room.

this would be awesome for our new bar in the basement. Themed after the St Louis Cardinals! love it, love it, love it! What is this type of tile called and what color red is the tile? »
In contrast, this highly contemporary installation is the epitome of modern. With a tile as bold as this, any other style of installation could appear chaotic and unsettling. This intense red tile is grounded with a stacked bond install, giving it a more structured and grid-like feel.
A kitchenette can be a place where you can express your inner design diva. This space in a recreation room of a larger house is hot with fire-engine-red tile from Ann Sacks.
