Painting the bricks white makes this room so serene and light. The bricks provide a bit of rough and rhythmic texture, which again, keeps the room from being a real yawner.

Here the brick wall itself is vintage modern: It's an old material with a fresh coat of paint. The swing arm lamp and the print reinforce the vintage in this fresh space.

Clean and bright. The puffy duvet just MAKES this bedroom, makes the bed look so cozy and inviting. The accessories are very simple, with the flexible neck study lamp for reading in bed. And the glass shelf that functions as a night table just seems to float, and takes up practically zero visual space. I think what this room could use, though, is a great big colour-burst, through a painting on the wall over the bed. To me, this room is screaming for, say, Indian textiles such as a kilim rug, or colourful exotic throw at the foot of the bed, and some funky pillows... or some whimsy and playfulness, through a George Nelson clock or an Alexander Calder mobile.
