Would anyone have an idea of the brand of the lights or where I can find something similar? I am looking for 3 drums to hang over a large kitchen island. The cabinetry is white, hardwood floor, and bianco antico granite. Any other suggestions?? Thanks - I LOVE this website! »
Nicole Hollis: The balance of white and black in this dining room is amazing. The crisp clean lines of the celling, walls and wood furniture is juxtaposed beautifully with the curved black arm chairs and the round black light pendants.
I've said it before and I'll say it again: I see Dr. Evil playing chess here. And I mean that as a compliment - so bold, so stark, yet the black makes it potentially eeeeevvilll!

"Because the wingback is on the larger-scale side and has a robust history with the wealthy, it appears regal, stately," Grace says. "This appearance is passed on to whoever sits in or owns the chair."
Here's a showstopper I've done twice that's as great to look at as it is to dine at: wingbacks and benches at the same table. This combo is an excellent option for square-footage-challenged spaces like condos or apartments; being able to see directly over one side of the table to the other keeps the dining room feeling open.
Balancing out the style. Talk about high style. Two end chairs and two drum pendants in black seemingly steal the show. The whitewashed table and bench, however, add additional character in an unexpected way. The clean, squared-off lines conflict perfectly (and balance beautifully) with the curviness and drama of the chairs and lights. Notice how the bench is the same width as the table. It's showing us that it means business in both form and function.
A much starker example with the high contrast of black and white. Smooth black chandelier lamps and the smooth wing back chairs are both classic shapes, but add a very modern touch when their shapes stand out.
