Repurposing Piano Parts
The two sides of a 1911 Lester "Cabinet Grand" were planed, sanded and joined with two butterfly joints made of walnut (the only wood not from the piano). The dark edging is the original veneer from the piano. This is a distressed wood piece. The nice thing is that the distress occurred over a hundred years. The thickness of the butterfly joints is different, so this falls into the category of shabby chic.
