Consider linear layers. If you have a contemporary vanity with square corners, especially one like this example with the silver layer between the cabinet and countertop, top it with a square sink in the same style. It will drive the scheme home and complete the look. Silver or porcelain sinks can also achieve that modern look (with the right shape), but glass is a bit more unexpected.
