Kim- Desire To Inspire:
The first time I saw my house I was shocked at its size. It’s 12 ft wide. I had never been in a house that narrow before. I could tell right away that I could work with the basics it had to offer as it had good bones. I was also shocked by the poor workmanship on many things throughout the house, such as the makeshift kitchen island and the worst tile job I’d ever seen in the kitchen and powder room. It was October and the season was winding down and I was terrified I wouldn’t be able to find something, and a home that was liveable. I wanted a house in the city and my price range was very limiting.
Here is a full view of the kitchen. The Mid-Century Modern chairs and southwestern area rug make this kitchen a bit eclectic.

Combine different styles. The kitchen may be a more utilitarian space, but that doesn’t mean it can’t be treated with the same design approaches as a living room or bedroom. Combining a modern table and chairs with a Southwestern rug and rustic cabinetry creates a vibe that is both eclectic and sophisticated.
2. Well-traveled flair with modern touches. I love this kitchen's bohemian feel. In my book, you can never go wrong mixing modern molded white plastic chairs and a vintage Kilim rug. And not to mention, who thinks of doing that in a kitchen in the first place? Most people would put an island in here. The cabinets have an Asian flair, while the modernism of the lights, appliances and chairs creates an unexpected tension.
