ddccarpenter I tried to google the java suede for my counter top and it says it is only for floor and walls? Can you help? I love the counter top is it marble and where can I find it, I'm in Illinois.

Spinnaker Development I have only come across this material in slab form once and it was purchased in Orange, Ca. It is a marble, the problem is every supplier or yard names their material differently so it's always tough to source the exact material others have used. Nova Gold is very similar. doctormother I have heard homeowner friends state that although marble is beautiful in appearance, it is very impractical and that every product imaginable can stain the counters/floors. Even regular sealant applications offer no guarantee. However, I have heard that porcelain tile is a practical choice.

Calacatta Marble & Mosaic The 2" hexagon mosaics on the floor are way too dark to be Calacatta. It looks like Bianco Carrara (we have in stock). Counter appears to be either a Turkish Emperador Brown Light or Nova Gold Limestone.

They are very similar materials and depending on the lots can be easily confused... The slab material is actually called Java Suede. I believe this was a stone yard's attempt to name this differently. It's the same as Royal Suede in my opinion... same colors and veining
