These incredibly well made chairs are freshly upholstered in a very thick cotton velveteen (no sheen! ) that is a delicious color that is neither gray nor beige but contains elements of both colors. Tufted backs. Skirted. The upholsterer commented that "they just don't make chairs like these anymore- these are rock solid". And so they are. Here's to another 50 plus years. Comfortable, not too large, not too small.
