Please respond to the "What is the wall color" question. I am VERY excited to paint my living room this gray color. What is the gray color please? »
bepsf The linked NYTImes article says the paint color is called "Lead Pipe"...

Note the room at the end of that hallway. The wallpaper tying it all in. The fantastic texture tempered by the glorious neutral of the grey. I content that grey is the most beautiful, versatile, and elegant neutral, especially in a space like this room and its adjoining hall.
More pink!
I've loved this space since I saw it in the New York Times earlier this week (thanks, Becky!). The gray is an amazing color and, on it's own, definitely not energizing. The yellow and pink, though - they pop, especially against the gray. I love those books, too. I absolutely long for a wall of bookshelves.
This person definitely has fun with props, from the penguin lamp to the glowing pink pig, and the leg on the wall to that crazy fluffy ottoman. What's interesting here is that most of the prop pieces are also functional as furniture and lighting.
Most people would never think of pairing pink and yellow with grey, would they? But take a look here at how wonderfully bold and interesting this color combination is. I love it. Do you dare?
A double dose of electric color prevents this dark gray room from feeling too cavernous. I love the way the hot pink coffee table feeds off the yellow artwork, and vice versa. Each of these strong elements helps to balance the other.

I love the gray walls. The couch should be another color though because theirs already so much gray.
A whole wall for books all around the door! I wish I had enough shelves for all my books & magazines.
