Key to the successful design were the homeowner priorities of family health, energy performance, and optimizing the walk-to-town construction site. To maintain health and air quality, the home features a fresh air ventilation system with energy recovery, a whole house HEPA filtration system, radiant & radiator heating distribution, and low/no VOC materials. The home’s energy performance focuses on passive heating/cooling techniques, natural daylighting, an improved building envelope, and efficient mechanical systems, collectively achieving overall energy performance of 50% better than code. To address the site opportunities, the home utilizes a footprint that maximizes southern exposure in the rear while still capturing the park view in the front.

Lisa K. Tharp - K. Tharp Design I used this gorgeous Charlotte Wing Sofa by Verellen as the design centerpiece of this living room. I recommend Verellen Home Collection to my interior design clients, not only because of the timeless, Belgian-inspired aesthetic, but also because the fabrics are organic, wood is eco-friendly, and slipcovers make care a cinch!
The furnishings in the living room have a bit of Belgian flair, industrial touches, and the overall feeling of an elegant yet relaxed coastal getaway. "Industrial and vintage elements keep it interesting," Kauffman Tharp says. "I repurposed an old glass pie display as a side table with seashells inside, and the rusted tin chimney piece from France acts as a quirky foil on the low table."
Keep hardwood bare. A gorgeous traditional room often requires no rug at all. Hardwood floors are clean and classic, and they blend beautifully with other elements in a neutral palette.

chairs -- This take on a Bergere chair combines Parisian flair with casual style, due to its combination of raffia and wool fabrics.
Dimensions: 28"W x28"D x 37"D. Mahogany wood frame.
WINNER. Like the minimal variation of color, in the lighter tones. Also like some character grade variation of veining/knots, BUT not a lot. We want a good amount of 5" width board, don't mind having 3" and 4" mixed in.
