Key to the successful design were the homeowner priorities of family health, energy performance, and optimizing the walk-to-town construction site. To maintain health and air quality, the home features a fresh air ventilation system with energy recovery, a whole house HEPA filtration system, radiant & radiator heating distribution, and low/no VOC materials. The home’s energy performance focuses on passive heating/cooling techniques, natural daylighting, an improved building envelope, and efficient mechanical systems, collectively achieving overall energy performance of 50% better than code. To address the site opportunities, the home utilizes a footprint that maximizes southern exposure in the rear while still capturing the park view in the front.

ZeroEnergy Design We don't have the information on the plant selection (by the homeowner). There wasn't a landscape architect involved in this project.
I sourced this beautiful reproduction lantern from Scofield Historic Lighting. Their selections and finishes are true to the historic aesthetic which I had envisioned for the home.
Please give the good folks at Scofield my best if you contact them.

Lisa K. Tharp - K. Tharp Design carolynvan is correct. Mythic Paint exterior finish in Bell Song. I chose it for its warmth, but it stays clean... not yellow, just a rich, creamy white. Plus, Mythic is non-toxic and now easily available. Find dealers in your area at mythicpaint.com or order online.
Cheers to all!

The front door opens into a hallway that extends from the front of the house to the back, providing a view to the backyard as well as a straight line to a door that leads to the patio. "It's a 'stone runner' that connects the front yard to the backyard," Horowitz explains. In fact, the same bluestone is used in the form of pavers on the front walk, covers the hallway, and then continues out on to the patio. This creates a strong connection from the front yard through the house and out to the back yard.
Friday after work: Unplug. Save energy and recharge your own batteries by spending Friday evening without your usual tech devices. Take advantage of the longer days by taking a small snack, a book and a refreshing drink outdoors to savor the last few moments of light. No yard? Hit up your local park. Later, dust off decks of cards, board games and neglected craft projects for an evening of old-school fun.

local bluestone, selected for uniform blue/gray appearance... the same stone as we used on the exterior walkway, in order to connect indoors and out in a casually elegant manner. Lisa Kauffman Tharp Design - fine interiors www.ktharpdesign.com”
