Charles Luck Stone Center There were holes drilled into each mantle piece and metal brackets secured inside of them to hold the weight. This was all done before the stone was put on the fireplace.

aspen2 In a new home the cords are wired behind the stone Fireplace.

Charles Luck Stone Center Make sure you have the mountings and everything before your mason begins his work. He will leave space for the mountings and your electrician should be able to wire everything up behind the fireplace so you have no cords showing. There shouldn't be any heat issues with the tv above the fireplace as long as everything is functioning properly and well ventilated.
