A dark turquoise sofa is accented with pillows in fabric used elsewhere in the living room. Custom artwork made out of paint chips creates as a focal point above. The designers decided to use another earthy tone in this room and accessorized with an eggplant-colored crocodile leather tray on the ottoman.

Teal. A blue-green, teal is one of those transitional colors that can float between definitions and expectations. I love to see it paired with warm colors, as seen in this gorgeous living room. The impact of teal makes it a great complement to patterns, too, as see with the toss pillows and ottoman. Ralph Lauren combined teal with floral patterns to great effect in his spring 2012 collection. The sweetness of the florals are toughened up by the boldness of the teal.
Bring in one large piece of colorful artwork. To pull the eye into a space and make a colorful impact, pick up one big piece of artwork and place it on a focal wall above a sofa, bed, fireplace, table or dresser.
If you choose a fabric that is easier to care for, you can still make a design statement. A bold solid color will make your sofa the focal point of your living room.
I love the color scheme in this living room. The side tables with the dark orange lamps that really add a balance that collaborates with the wall decor. It's a very calming and welcoming space.
