Open Plan Kitchen at the Beach

This Myrtle Beach oceanfront condominium features a kitchen in its center that is exposed to the living, dining, and family areas as well as the foyer and the gorgeous views to the ocean. So the owners chose workstations that could look quite formal but still capture the informal lifestyle of beach living.

Concealing the appliances was key to keeping the messy kitchen appearance out of the more formal living areas. And yet, with only four pieces (including a center island that you can't see) efficiency is not sacrificed. The distressed pine arch top refrigerator armoire has one can deep storage pantries on each side. The other two Cherry workstations are 30" deep, so the storage and countertop space is much more efficient than standard cabinetry.
