Gold Coast Historic Renovations

The client wanted to create a space in one of her front rooms for a small library and TV room that would be sound proof since it shared a common wall with the nursery. To do so, we insulated the wall separating the two rooms, reinstalled the drywall, and then built another wall in front of it – the best way to sound-proof a wall. We designed and built a set of custom bookcases/TV entertainment center in keeping with the historical design of the home. The bookcase was placed against the sound-proofed wall. The recessed lighting in the soffit above the bookshelves was moved out further into the room (still on the soffit) so that they were appropriately placed in front of the entertainment center. The columns to either side of the TV were wired to accept sconces. The crown molding and baseboards were designed to match the rest of the room for a seamless look. For the finishing touch, the entire room (walls, baseboards, crown molding and window trim) was painted a sophisticated high-gloss dark navy.
