Shabby-chic kitchen, 40s look except for the microwave. I'd use old drawer-pulls on the cabinet doors as well. I don't like the chandelier, or the green. I'd use red accents and accessories.
Little built-ins, like this microwave above a pantry and below a cabinet, save precious counterspace. Plus, the look is much cleaner than if a big, clunky microwave was plopped on the counter.
Like how island is not matchy matchy with cabinets, although would go with a different rustic color. Too much white. Bench not my style. Like idea of chandelier over island but maybe one not so fancy.
i like how the island is low to the ground so we could put regular sized chairs there for the kids if they are wanting to help and i don't have to worry about them falling so far.
The microwave's placement in a open-ended wall of the kitchen makes it easy to bring warmed food to other rooms of the house. Or, right here, on this inviting eat-in kitchen table.
