COLLECTIONS. It need not be books. Though you might not want to drag an accumulation of stuff when you're in a more portable or downsized era of life, stick to the things that matter most and keep them around. Art. Cake stands. Vintage records and that record players you swiped from your dad.
1. Action figures. Don't call them dolls. Seriously, though, how great is this uniform, clean display of action figures? It transforms them from toys to bona fide art. (Transforms - get it? Like Transformers?)
While leveraging the look of simplicity, be sure to incorporate collections and items that reflect you. As long as you keep these pieces organized in their display, they can be an interesting focal point of the home.
You may have originally looked at your spouse’s collection of superhero figurines and wondered just how you could sneak them out of the house without anyone noticing. Instead, honor the collection and your design sense by displaying it. The playfulness of these figurines adds a lighthearted appeal to this more contemporary living room, and guests will get a nostalgic kick whenever they visit.
REPEAT! We love the way this display treats action figures to high art. Perhaps they'll be adding more from the Total Recall remake. I'm surprised someone this meticulous would not have left these I.T.B. (In The Box)!
My boyfriend and I have been looking for a good way to display our figurines while protecting them (without a cluttered look). I had envisioned something similar, but this solution looks better than my idea probably would have. Thank you for posting this!

YOu could add Plexiglass boxes on the wall displaying things they have already built with the legos?

COLLECTIONS ON DISPLAY.
It is hard to walk in to house where there is a collection displayed and NOT say a word. Obviously, the homeowner is passionate about his collection and certainly wants to share its history! Go ahead! Ask!!! You will probably learn more about this collection than you could ever imagine…. But learning to appreciate something new is always a gift! (BTW, if you come to our house, please ask my husband about his comic book collection!)
