Maybe a desk? Or a bookshelf?

I have a desk there now but there is a door opening that does not hit the desk but to get in the chair, the door has to be closed. need something somewhat narrower. The bookshelf I tried but since the armoire is less than 10 feet away with its height, it competed with it. Thank you for your suggestion.
