karen6101 Yes. If the surface of your floor is smooth, even, undamaged then it is fine. Use laminate planks that come with foam underlayment attached to reduce noise.

Laminate flooring is stain- and fade-resistant and has a tendency to repel water. It's an extremely hard and durable surface, but it is possible to scratch it.
