David Neiman Architects Correct. You're looking at the roof framing cantileverIng our past the exterior wall. We used a textured plywood sheathing at the eaves instead of regular plywood. All of the soffit wood is stained with sikkens cetol to protect & maintain the natural color.

There's no trim - the stucco comes right up to the window frame. The windows are made by Eagle Windows & the color of the frame is called Harvest Gold 123

Due to the slope, the houses are designed with retaining walls at the lower floors. Combined with the slope of the roof, this points to positioning service spaces (bathrooms, storage, stairs etc.) to the rear, opening up the front of the house for other spaces.
