Twin beds. A pair of beds instantly transforms a room into one that's reminiscent of nights at camp and is a good option for a guest or kid's room. (If your visitors are 5'11" or taller, you may want to go a different route.)
8. Create a vacation vibe. You can conjure the mood of your favorite vacation spot with a few key elements.Lake: regional map, wool camp blankets, vintage booksBeach: driftwood, sea-grass rug, airy white curtains and beddingBig city: bold wallpaper, vintage chandelier, upholstered headboardTropics: seaside photo prints, vintage postcards tucked into bamboo blinds, tropical potted plants
Go beyond white. There’s definitely a theme here: white walls. But this room has something a little more rustic going on with the different shades of wood in the room. It blends a weathered, lighter wood behind the rafters, a golden stain on the window and varying shades on the wide-plank floor. Don't be afraid to introduce a variety of woods and stains into your rustic cottage.
I love the exposed studs and trusses. I am currently working on a space behind my parents to become an apartment. I leave things as they are and just add a few coats of paint
White exposed beams and framing. There is something about this that grabs me in a nostalgic way. It feels like a mid-20th century motor lodge like Clark Gable stayed in It Happened One Night. I think we could do some fun things with a pure white rustic farmhouse/motor lodge? interior.
