Benita from Chez Larsson:
Take your time. Get the feel of your place before starting to tear everything out. Maybe you don’t need to rip out the whole kitchen, a couple of coats of paint and new hardware might just do the trick. Try to keep your floors the same throughout your place instead of choosing a different floor for each room. It helps make the space feel bigger and less chopped up.
Simple living. In Larsson's living room, knickknacks are kept to a minimum. Large furniture is white, with color coming from the vibrant aqua wall and citrus-colored cushions. Many Scandinavian homes seem to follow this general guideline of keeping main furnishings white (or pale neutral) and switching up the accents seasonally. In winter, bring in extra candles, warm knits and fairy lights.

The same apartment achieves a spacious feeling with white furniture and furnishings. This is characteristic of Swedish style in general: keep the backgound light and neutral.

Could we paint the far wall of the family room a color-- e.g., artic blue? mainly depends on the choice of accent colors in the kitchen.
