Stone. $7-14/square foot Stone is the oldest building material in existence for good reason. As a siding material, stone makes for a beautifully textured facade that will last as long as the house. In the right geographic location (i.e. low earthquake risk), a stone residence can hold up for centuries with little or no maintenance. Porch over door is subtle (same color as the rest of the home), but has enough mass to stand out. I also like how it floats without columnar supports.
