zuitzy I don't know where Kim sourced her countertop, but ours are very similar...solid butcher block countertops from IKEA. They are available in different colors, lengths and I believe they come in 2 different widths, in case you want to use it for something other than the standard countertop depth.
vancouverlori I have this exact one... it's very cool because you can make it taller or shorter by using or not using an extension collar included in the kit. (This picture shows the taller configuration - I have it set up as the shorter version.) I believe it was made by a company called Pegasus, and I bought it at Home Depot (in Canada) for ~ $150. (But I think that was a mistake b/c there was no price tag on it at the time - I saw it in the store a few months later and the price tag was closer to $250.) But beware - there's no way to keep the spray function on except when you're holding the lever down on the faucet, which is very inconvenient.
Notice the placement of the wall clock in this kitchen...slightly off center of the shelving below...love that! Have you noticed how you can get away with hanging clocks up nice and high? That will usually not work well for a painting or art piece that needs a lower position to be enjoyed. So, keep the big wall clocks in mind for those hard to decorate, way-up-high areas.
