Cynthia Taylor-Luce This is a gorgeous blue! Try Pittsburgh Paints 363-4 CRYSTAL LAKE or go a little lighter with 353-3 MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM. Depending on how much light is in your room, you can see which of these you like.
Nice lighting - How was the lighting installed in this ceiling? We have similar ceilings and didn't think we could do lighting like this without our a drop ceiling now perhaps there is chance. Thanks in advance for your answer. »
jassylou @mother bear...Where I am in the Caribbean we don't need insulation in the roof, so there is not much space between the exterior roof and interior ceiling generally. That look can be done here if it is new construction and you build the roof to accommodate that type of lighting or you can add a drop ceiling to an existing home to create that look.
machominnow My house is a 1950 cheap maybe imitation of an Eichler in Northern California Bay Area. Slab foundation, no insulation in the walls and a very little sloped roof which was made with a paper like roll then tar and pebbles. There are hundreds of these things out here. The best thing that could happen to it is a fire (joke). The roof was later covered with a met acrylic cloth then paint but it is still just 3 inches thick. Is there an upside? People can go crazy and put sky lights into every room in the house.
Aquamarine. Aquamarine is a softer version of turquoise, but as the name indicates, it has a watery, ocean-like feel. This color is ideal for bathrooms but also makes a surprisingly cool color for a family room.

I like the mix of colors... medium color wall with light floor, ceiling and fireplace, and darker furniture. We have dark floors and furniture, so light walls and fireplace may give a similar effect.
