This is something that we can do and want to avoid.

this is the closest example what we're thinking...though the desk will likely wrap around or be perpendicular to the fireplace. and the space above the desk would more resemble bookshelves that cabinets. in terms of style, we'd like the desk & shelving to match the existing woodwork. in terms of the stereo cabinet on the other side of the fireplace, i'm having difficulty visualizing it in the existing space. there's room for it, of course, but wondering how well we'll be able to blend/match it with the wetbar. thoughts from alex and the lisas would be appreciated.
