Dave Hu Jennifer: Sorry to bother you again...I got the Salvaged Eucalyptus from Exotic Hardwoods but the color is lighter than what you have in the pictures....did you apply a stain on the wood or did you just use a clear finish?
The casework has a clear coat applied, which will darken the wood a little bit. To get a good idea of what your veneer will look like with a clear coat on it, apply tap water with a damp sponge to the surface so it's evenly coated (but not soaked). If it's still lighter than you desire, ask your cabinet maker for a referral for a custom finisher to work with you both on the project. The finisher will produce samples for you to review and approve before the entire lot is finished.
Like the nice work surface and the storage. Need more built-in storage with file cabinets. Don't want to see too many open space to collect clutter and nick nacks
Desk top is nice if wood wanted (but may be redundant with carpet). Shelves are simple and cabinets simple and nice. Curved backboard gives an interesting touch (but not really necessary).
