The genesis for Modern Outdoor comes from an award winning fabricator of fine furniture and fixtures for retail spaces. Made in the USA, the Talt line may be the most distinct line in the collection with its purposely designed low back aesthetic. Talt is constructed using small 2 3/8 wide pieces of ITTO, or IBAMA certified Ipe spaced 3/8 apart - for instance, 13 across make up the table. The back of the bench and chair are ever so slightly lower than the height of the table, this makes for an unobstructed sight line across the entire set. Ipe is a South American hardwood sometimes called Brazilian Walnut, Ironwood, or Pao Lope, easily one of the most beautiful, natural, and densest wood products available today. It is naturally resistant to rot, insects, UV exposure, ice, salt, abrasion, and splintering (and is 3 times harder than teak)! Square tube Electro-polished Stainless Steel forms the framework for the line. Electro-polishing Stainless Steel provides corrosion resistance, resistance to contamination and bacteria growth, micro smoothness, and improved appearance.
