Leslie Fry artwork in situ

Wall sculpture, titled "Little Sphinx"
One of my many interpretations of a sphinx, part winged animal-part human -- though some might call it a manticore. I've been studying images of sphinxes for years, and after I made this one, Moreau's painting "Oedipus and the Sphinx" came to mind (http://www.metmuseum.org/toah/works-of-art/21.134.1). Fine detail, part of its body was cast from the remains of a seahorse.

Small relief sculpture, cast black onyx resin with rose metallic finish, upward angled hole in back to hang on small nail (included) 4” x 2” x .5”
