slyyogi22 I can't find these lights from any of the manufacturers mentioned nor can I find the information on the blog ( although I do love it). If you know how to purchase these lights, I really would like the information . Thank you!
Ronique Gibson Your lifestyle and how you are going to use the cabinets. If you have a lot of decorative collections, and matching dishes, you may opt for cabinets with glass, open shelving, etc.. While if you prefer your dishes behind closed doors - what type of door, style, color, will go with the rest of your kitchen, may be a question to ask yourself.
Also consider the quality. Cabinets are one of the most expensive components of your kitchen. The cost range can go from inexpensive laminate, to handcrafted custom wood. Decide on your price range and research options before you get married to one that is out of your price range.
jillandmatt A friend of mine has honed black granite. I think it's called "jet mist" or something like that. It has the gray viens and looks almost identical to soapstone.
Rebekah Zaveloff I just answered a similar question above - It might look as if these cabinets are a cream color, but I think they're really an off white and the creamy-effect is coming from the incandescent lighting. I like to use Benjamin Moore White Dove or Sherwin Williams Designer White for cabinetry, as well as Farrow and Ball's Skimming Stone. Most cabinet manufacturers have standard white and off-white color options, only custom manufacturers will let you do a custom color or paint them in the field.
This is soapstone. Soapstone is a soft, non-porous, natural stone. Despite its softness, it's some pretty resilient stuff. It is always a dark stone, very nearly black and it always has a honed surface. People who cook love it because it's an excellent heat insulator.More about soapstone countertops
