Paint Transition on bullnose wall corners - I am wanting to build my house with bullnose corners, but my painter wanted to know how does peop. change colors of rooms with bullnose corners?? Is there a certain way to paint it or how to start the paint so it makes a smooth color transition from one room to another?? I have asked several peop. and noone can give me a answer.. Can someone please help me?? »
metrodeco I think you have to choose which rooms will be dominant. Maybe you will pick your hallway and the hall colour will go on the inside of the doorframe, meeting the next room's colour. The rooms off the hallway would have colour only on their walls and not on the inside of the doorframe. This would be like the photo above, only opposite.
Rising Tide Inc. My recommendation is that bullnose corners do not suit color changes at outside transitions at all. The implication of a bullnose corner is to suggest that you have an integrated material such as plaster or adobe which wraps around the corner, and by changing color at that point you sabotage that effect. Color transitions should held to inside corners only.
I love the color and the question still hasn't been answered. What color was used? I love the red and the greenish colors and how they off set each other. »
Anne DeCocco I feel your pain at trying to figure this one out, but am sure the colors are custom mixed. This is a trial and error process, with careful note-taking along the way. Venetian plaster makes colors take on a whole new life.
Allison Cosmos It is a Venetian Plaster, custom colors. There is not a stock color but you can order Venetian Plaster in any color you wish. Sorry I don't know more. It was done a very long time ago!

Consider softening your red walls with a custom wall treatment. You will still get the same warmth and richness of red walls...but the walls will have a softer, more velvety feel.
This color of this space was most likely inspired by bougainvillea, a vibrant flowering plant seen throughout the Mediterranean region. Blossoms range from fuchsia to purple and apricot — all terrific hues for enjoying conversation and a great meal.
