Olga Adler Hello, this is a chair that a client owned and we recovered it in this animal print fabric. Similar fabrics can be purchased at retail fabric stores. I hope this helps.
This is what I have in this picture. I want to take the marble out and put slate. How do I do this? - White fireplace mantle painting it black. Want stone instead of marble. Do I need to take marble out then do the stone /slate work or can I do the slate over the marble?? »
Custom Home Planning Center Wasn't that fun? If the picture above is accurate you have an inset that will allow you to add the new stone directly to the existing stone. You still need the hammer, but only to lightly fracture the existing stone surface to improve the bonding surface. Have the stone sized to overlay the existing stones edge by the thickness of the stone you are covering. This will allow you to slide a strip cut from you finish stone to cover the old stone edge.. I would have The new stone milled to a 1/4 round. You could also consider making the new stone the same size as the old stone and have a milled accent strip cover both edges. (new & existing)
COASTROAD Hearth & Patio This is a pretty common Federal/Georgian style mantel. Several companies make them (besides having one custom-made) here in the USA. Here are a couple of examples:
We have one large stool similar to the two above that I plan to put on the hearth in front of our fireplace as a focal point of the room. (take eyes away from the fact that we're caving and getting a flatscreen above the fireplace mantle). Looking for baskets and other asian decorative items to put around the hearth.
MASTER BEDROOM FIREPLACE - fireplae insert is set up higher off the ground - so can be seen while lying in bed. Marble surround, with mantle ( maybe more delicate mantle).
