Paint for trim - What is the trim color and sheen? I'm having my trim painted next week and can't decide on this. I want a fresh, crisp updated look for my Arts and Crafts style home but sometimes feel that the high gloss trim
can look cheap.

6. Bright WhiteBright white trim is the default, but it should be as intentional a choice as anything else. It is crisp and fresh looking, and it often adds a sense of geometry. It's the perfect choice to set off the olive and beige walls in this dining room.

For our house, I choose to stick with the white trim. It fits my color scheme and ties the rooms together. However, I would like to use a more grayed out white...
High rail (no longer chair rail at that point, really) could be nice for displaying things in the dining room. Doesn't lend itself to paneling or serve the purpose of a chair rail, though.
