We are renovating a limestone in Brooklyn. Stripping the wood. - Hi,
You're place is our inspiration. We were wondering how you stripped the wood and did you use a soap finish? We have
cherry wood and oak that has been stained very dark and we would like to lighten it up.
Also, I love the artwork. Whose the artist?
Thank you so much,
Lauren

Hi, Thanks for your comments and questions. I apologize for the delayed response. I missed this. The woodwork on the stair was for the most part in its current state. We just did a bit of cleaning and touch up of nicks and scratches. Personally, I love very dark stained oak since this specie's natural color has so much amber -- which does not cooperate well with most modern palettes. You could also ceruse the oak which would be very cool! The cherry could bleached. Feel free to email me at jessica@jpwarreninteriors.com.
