Here, the dogs are placed where they were meant for: the mantel. You can see why. They look great flanking the other pieces of white porcelain. The oversize glass vessels that hold thistles are dramatically contemporary in comparison to the Staffordshire, all of which make a nice mix of styles.

Staffordshire dogs. Had these in Williamsburg. I still like some accessories. A clean, cold house doesn't make it for me.
