aZura Stoneworks There are several ways to seal textural stone products, but the most important thing to remember when sealing aZurastone is to use a 'regular' stone sealer, not and enriching or enhancing sealer. Enhancing sealers can deepen the color of the natural stone. An example could be looking at a dry stone next to a wet stone.

When sealing a flat surfaced stone, the sealer is wiped along the surface of the stone. It is very easy to get a good coverage of sealer on a flat stone and not leave any puddles that could leave a cloudy look. When sealing a textural stone, pour your sealer with a fine mist spray bottle, or some manufacturers make an arousal spray can. Spray enough to get a good coverage, but not so much that the sealer starts dripping and puddling. You can use a paint brush or a sponge to spread the sealer evenly.

Once sealed cleaning is easy.. . but remember when cleaning any stone it is best to use a natural stone cleaner, especially if the stone is polished. Some cleaners can slowly dull a polished surface.

mark_a_holiday Im not sure I agree that cleaning i easy on a textured surface like that pictured. Ive had both a smooth faced slate subway tile backsplash and an even smoother bluestone tile backsplash. Both were sealed. The rough surface makes it difficult to clean. Its not like you can just blot food oil or grease off that rough surface. Ive used commercial products on my bluestone and those products leave behind a haze. Unless you do very little to no cooking Id sae that tile for wetbar area that sees less traffic. We do a lot of cooking in out house and Id never install a porous stone tile again. In fact my kitchen remodel is barely 3 years old and Im very close to removing this expensive backsplash and replacing it with something more functional / cleanable / wipe-able if i will.
